Hon. Ronald K. Davis, Mayor
City of Prichard, Alabama
Ronald “Ron “K. Davis was elected Mayor of the City of Prichard Alabama in October, 2004. Since then, he has earned a distinguished reputation for innovative leadership, and making a better quality of life for the citizens of the City of Prichard by creating programs for a cleaner and safer city. As Mayor, Davis has kept to his vision of revitalizing a once great city. Many streets have been paved; downtown Prichard has been given a facelift. He helped to bring to Prichard Fed Ex and Texaco; and working with the Alabama Motorsports Park to bring entertainment and other jobs to the City.
He serves as the Chairman of Trustee's and a Deacon at Yorktown Missionary Baptist Church. He is a board member of the Mobile Area Education Foundation; he serves as a member of the advisory board of the Women's Federated Club. Mayor Davis understands that in order for Prichard to continue to succeed and grow, he will actively pursue the knowledge from other leaders of successful cities. This has led him to become part of a larger group of leaders; he was voted as Interim President for the World Conference of Mayor's; he is a board member of the National Conference of Black Mayors and the recipient of the Valiant Award. Mayor Davis is the President of the Alabama Conference of Black Mayors; and he is a board member of the National League of Cities.
Mayor Davis’ priorities are to keep communities safe, create jobs opportunities for residents and businesses; and to build strong, healthy families and communities. Ron Davis is a 1985 graduate of Troy State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice and Social Rehabilitation Services. Mayor Davis is married to Alisa Davis and has three children Shannon, Jaron and Jarhonda Davis and resides in Prichard.
